What is an IFSP?
IFSP's are written plans which are decided by you in conjunction with the team at Allowah. The aim is to prioritise the needs of your child and set goals which we work towards together to maximize the health, development and wellbeing of your child. Meeting together ensures that you are directly involved in deciding on these goals and how they can be achieved.
Why do we need an IFSP?
To make sure that therapy and treatment for your child and family is relevant and effective.
When and how often does the IFSP occur?
We aim to review each child's IFSP every year but if a review is appropriate earlier we will be happy to organise one sooner. Genevieve, our social worker, will contact you to organise one but if you would like to initiate one please feel free to contact her at Allowah.
Who is involved in the IFSP?
You and anyone in your family who is involved in your child's care, as well as medical and allied health staff at Allowah. You are welcome to bring any other professional who might be involved with your child's care e.g. community allied health professionals or teachers. We will also invite their DADHC caseworker if they have one.
What will happen at the meeting?
Together we will: How can you prepare for the IFSP meeting?
