Speech pathology is the diagnosis, management and treatment of individuals who are unable to communicate effectively or who have difficulty with feeding and swallowing. Our Speech Pathologist is not the primary therapist for children who are admitted to Allowah, but works with community or hospital based therapists to maintain the consistencies or interventions in all environments.
Our Speech Pathologist assesses, diagnoses and manages swallowing issues for the children while they are at Allowah. She also supports access to community home based services or referrals to appropriate clinics.
Our Speech Pathologist maintains a close relationships with the Speech Pathology departments in large hospitals, such as The Children’s Hospital Westmead and Randwick.
Thank you for your patience as we update our website to reflect Allowah’s next chapter and the changes announced in June this year. If you have any questions, please contact our CEO Elizabeth McClean at emmclean@pcnsw.org.au.
