Volunteers are an important part of Allowah. There are a number of roles, some with direct contact with the children and others without, that volunteers can hold. Some of the kinds of volunteers we may accept include Duke of Ed students, Presbyterian Church groups and individual adults who wish to donate their time throughout the week.
Kids love hearing live music! If you've got a gift for music, you might like to come along and play for the children on a regular basis.
Sit with the children and read a book or tell a story.
Spend time with kids playing with a toy or having playful interactions.
Allowah has beautiful gardens, including a special sensory garden that is safe for kids. You might like to help maintain them by weeding and pruning.
There are sometimes odd jobs that need to be done. If you've got some handy skills, you might be able to help keep our facilities in tip-top condition.

Please note that our team’s capacity to facilitate volunteers at Allowah can fluctuate throughout the year depending on the needs of the hospital. This may affect available volunteering opportunities.
