Allowah

Update October 2024: please note that we are currently not taking on new volunteers. Feel free to check-in in a few months time or email the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@allowah.org.au

Volunteering

Volunteers are an important part of Allowah. There are a number of roles, some with direct contact with the children and others without, that volunteers can hold. Some of the kinds of volunteers we may accept include Duke of Ed students, Presbyterian Church groups and individual adults who wish to donate their time throughout the week.

  • Music

Kids love hearing live music! If you've got a gift for music, you might like to come along and play for the children on a regular basis.

  • Storytelling

Sit with the children and read a book or tell a story.

  • Play

Spend time with kids playing with a toy or having playful interactions.

  • Gardening

Allowah has beautiful gardens, including a special sensory garden that is safe for kids. You might like to help maintain them by weeding and pruning.

  • Handy Work

There are sometimes odd jobs that need to be done. If you've got some handy skills, you might be able to help keep our facilities in tip-top condition.

  • Support Raising

Are you a big fan of what we do here at Allowah? You might like to volunteer your time to help raise support for Allowah.

Please note that our team’s capacity to facilitate volunteers at Allowah can fluctuate throughout the year depending on the needs of the hospital. This may affect available volunteering opportunities.
